Tuna Club: The Birthplace of Sport Fishing

Catalina Island is steeped in history and tradition, and that is no more apparent than at the Tuna Club.  Founded in 1898, it has been a landmark gracing Avalon Bay ever since. The general public does not normally have access to this iconic private club, but thanks to the Catalina Island Museum you will have a chance to tour the Tuna Club on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

While some of us have been lucky enough to go inside its historic walls, very few know more than what is found in the history books. You will not want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to learn more about the Tuna Club and gain an insiders’ perspective. There will only be three tours with a maximum of 20 spots for each one, so they will sell out. Tickets went on sale Friday, August 3, and can be purchased from the Catalina Island Museum.
