I love the Island more than anywhere and am hoping that one of our children will evetually get marreid there when they are old enough!
My husband & I love the charm and history of staying in rental homes rather than hotels. They are so much more cozy and welcoming!! Catalina is the perfect place to stay in a rental home – you feel part of the island culture.
Catalina is a beautiful place and the hotels are great however, staying in a rental home has so many advantages like the living spaces and kitchen. The best part however is that you can have a whole family in one place on a vacation as family togetherness is the best part of vacations.
it’s nicer than Hotels.
First time I went to Catalina was May 23, 1964 on our honeymoon. We both love the island, we have been married 48 years. Over the years we started boating and cross over when ever we can & stay as long as we can. All our children, 4 plus spouses, and 11 grandchildren love, love the island also!
My family has been vacationing on catalina for almost 25 years using Civr for about 20.we always receive the help we need and love every house we rented.there are several of us and all the families are accommodated nicely.we have introduced many other friends and family to our tradition hoping they fall in love Luke we did
I have never been to Santa Catalina, but I am getting to fly to Long Beach in early February, so I really want to see this place of which I’ve heard the song so often. The island looks beautiful, and I love ocean travel and ocean views.
I haven’t stayed at a CIVR vacation home yet (or visited Catalina either) but I will be coming in February for my birthday and hope to find out what both have to offer!
Our family prefers to stay in a CIVR rental home because it makes us feel more at home. Not only because it’s more spacious but all our loved ones are together while still enjoying the great ocean view. It’s like having an island paradise at our doorstep of our rental home.
It’s better to stay in a CIVR rental home because it has all the ammenities as if one was still at the comfort of my home sweet home. But you can’t beat having your rental home right next to an island so beautiful as Catalina. The most important thing is that everyone in the family feels together and all cozy while enjoying paradise. It feels like we transported our home like the movie “UP” and landed in Catalinaville.
Experienced CIVR for the first time this summer, BEST hospitality.Would love to visit the Island on a holiday. Were else would Santa start his journey…than from the Airport in the Sky.

After looking for just the right place for our next summer family vaction. My mom said why dont you go back to the place you had your honeymoon. It didn’t take long to decide that Catalina is the perfect place. I stumbled across CIVR and saw all of the choices that were available to me and new I would book with them. It would be sooooo wonderful to surprise my husband with the gift of just the 2 of us going first before we take the family so we could have a second honeymoon. I love CIVR can’t wait!!!!

Btw, the reason I always stay with civr is that everything is much better in a vacation rental. I can’t stand hotels and civr rentals always make you feel like your at home. What’s Better?

My wife and I Love Catalina Island and have had the pleasure of staying at two CIVR properties so far. CIVR has been wonderful helping us to choose the properties based on our wants and needs. Their service doesn’t stop after the payment has been received. They are easily accessible for any problems that come up as well as giving great suggestions on activities as well as places to dine. My son and his wife have vacationed at Cataline Island many times and I’m anxious to have they same experience.
CIVR rocks! We’ve been renting houses in Avalon from CIVR for years. They always make sure our stay is fun, easy and comfortable. The people are great and I refer friends there often. Been vacationing in Avalon since the early 60′s when I was a child…took our sons every year and now our grandsons love Catalina too! See you Easter week for the annual fam reunion. And yes, Grandma is coming again…96 this year
CIVR is the only way to stay on the island i have been renting from you for years, my fovorite house
is up on maiden ln. We got married on the beach in 9/2011 and rented the upper and lower houses for
our reciption was hoping to go back this year but didn’t make it. Never want to leave once i get there.
Our CIVR rental is our “home away from home.” After a busy day on the island we can relax and enjoy our own kitchen, living room and dining room. The kids can make a snack any time they want or watch TV. Early risers can get up early for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and just enjoy the view. For breakfast, we love to cook pancakes, eggs and bacon before heading out to play in the sun. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and lots of places to stow gear as well as quiet corners to read a book or magazine. The cottage we rented this year even had a barbeque and picnic table in the backyard! Some of the rentals offer their own golf cart and some will even let you bring a pet. It is our dream to one day retire to Catalina and renting with CIVR allows us to indulge in the fantasy of living the island life that we desire. I wouldn’t vacation any other way!
The reason why I have chosen to continue renting houses through CIVR is that I have had nothing but great customer service with them! From helping me choose houses to rent, to accommodating my requests, making sure we have had the best experiences and conveniences possible, to answering my every question imaginable; CIVR has been an amazing company that aims to make sure their clients are happy! The rentals we have stayed in are not only impeccably clean (down to the crevices in the baseboards!!) they are, in my opinion, the best option your money can be placed to have a comfortable, enjoyable, and relaxing time in Catalina.
The rentals we stayed in have been stocked with everything we could ever need while vacationing on the island! The kitchens are fully equipped, ours even had a bagel slicer (nice!!!); all u need is food (which you can purchase reasonably right on the island), clothing, money, and your phone charger!
We will not be staying anywhere else when we vacation in Catalina! Why would we? They got it all!! The staff are very friendly, helpful, knowledgable, reliable, and efficient! The rentals are amazing and so many to choose from!! Paradise!!!!
Durring the winter we rented a place through CIVR. Really great prices and all comforts of home. I recommend it to all my friends and family.
We choose CIVR for our stays on the island because it allows us to stay together as a family with all the comforts of home. There’s nothing like waking up to the sunrise and then having breakfast while looking out at the beautiful ocean from our Hamilton Cove condo. Then we can head into town for awhile, come back “home” and relax a little more before making dinner or going back to town ( and hopefully seeing some deer near Descanso Beach club along the way) for a delicious meal.
The folks at CIVR are always polite and helpful. I’ll never forget my first trip to the Island, Denny met us at the condo we were staying in. He wanted to double check that everything was in tip top order for us. As it turned out, the golf cart that came with this condo didn’t have seat belts. Denny got a special strap from his truck and securely installed my daughter’s car seat for us. It’s this type of thoughtfulness that keeps us coming back to CIVR for our stays.
Year after year we continue to rent our beloved Hamilton Cove Villas for our family, friends and even business meetings. We were married out on the bluff in 2001. Chey put that all together for us, ten villas and 30 people from over town, it always comes off without a hitch even as we contunue the tradition every anniversary.
Now that our daughter has become a full time resident of Avalon we rented a Villa for Christmas this year. I can hardly wait to light the fire place and cook Christmas dinner for her and hopefully some of her friends from the island. Again Chey has been there with Janet to make our plans so easy.
We plan on bringing small gifts to the convalescent patients there at Avalon Medical Center on Christmas day., The golf cart that always comes with a Villa will surely make that a snap. Just a small gesture for the people of the islanbd that we love so much.
We love our home away from home with CIVR.

I choose to stay in a CIVR vacation rental home when I visit Catalina Island because it helps me imagine myself living on the island.
There’s no place like home! and with CIVR I feel as if i’m “home” when staying on site. The employees are friendly and go above and beyond to help you with many needs. Also, the units are extremely clean and having access to the golf carts is an added bonus!

CIVR is THE only place to book your vacation rental – great selection of rentals that are clean and loaded with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend CIVR to anyone visiting Catalina.
My husband and I chose to stay on Catalina because we wanted somewhere romantic, but close by. When we booked through CIVR, we got a beautiful, romantic rental and we were so happy with it. We stayed for a long weekend, and even though the island is only 26 miles away from L.A., it felt like it was somewhere far away and unique, compared to our usual weekend getaways. We were really happy with the rental, and had a fantastic weekend. I highly recommend booking through CIVR.
Catalina Island has always been my magic place. My mom lived on the Island in 1928/29 during the building of the Casino. We have been going ever since and have stayed in the old tent cabins in the 1940′s, various hotel rooms, and now I take my entire family every summer and we rent a house or condo from CIVR. It is the only way I can get us all together for family time and try to have a “no phone zone”. I will be booking again this year as soon as I finish my Cancer treatments that make it even more improtant to be together.
