New Years on Catalina is the biggest party of the year
New Year’s Eve on Catalina Island is something that every Catalina fan needs to do – at least once. The quaint village of Avalon and the remote outpost of Two Harbors are both fascinating spots to ring in the New Year on Catalina, providing the perfect combination of festive frolicking and secluded spots for quiet introspection.
In Avalon, New Years Eve revelers have a wide range of festivities from which to choose, from black-tie galas to pub crawls. The Catalina Casino offers the quintessential New Year’s Eve extravaganza, complete with dinner, dancing, champagne toast and midnight balloon drop. Hosted by the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce, the party is an annual tradition for hundreds of merry-makers. The Casino Ballroom is far from the only place to make merry on New Year’s Eve on Catalina Island. Restaurants, nightclubs and bars throughout town will all offer their own special take on the end of 2015.
Avalon is not the only spot to ring in the New Year on Catalina Island. Two Harbors, near the West End, is an adventurers’ paradise, with hiking, scuba diving and kayaking popular activities. Those activities offer a great opportunity to get a start on your 2016 Resolutions, whether those are getting healthier or living with less stress, but Two Harbors also offers a great party to bid 2015 farewell. The Harbor Reef Restaurant will be offering dinner and revelry on the last night of the year.
