There’s plenty to do on Catalina after dark

Catalina after dark

Sunset comes sooner after Nov. 6. Luckily, Catalina Island after dark offers a range of activities.

Go for a walk – There’s nowhere else on earth nearly as romantic as Avalon Harbor after dark. Take someone who matters by the hand and enjoy the sights and sounds while you stroll along the Avalon waterfront.

See a movie – It doesn’t matter what’s playing, the Avalon Theatre is an experience in and of itself. Unforgettable murals, a dramatic domed space and art deco details combine to create an environment every bit as compelling as whatever first-run movie is playing on screen.

Catch the stars – even in Avalon, visitors will see an array of constellations that are obscured by light pollution on the mainland. But get away from downtown Avalon – even just by a half a mile or so – and the night sky bursts to life.

Feed your hunger – Dining on Catalina Island offers a buffet of options, from artistically prepared fresh seafood to greasy burgers perfect for sharing on the seawall. Just remember, most of Avalon’s eateries probably close earlier than you may be expecting, especially in the winter months.

Have a cocktail, or two – Catalina Island nightlife wouldn’t be complete without checking out a few of the local hotspots. From karaoke to sports bar and upscale wine bars to classic nightclubs, Avalon has it all.
