First Fridays feature Catalina culture at museum
Since it opened less than a year ago, the new Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Catalina Island Museum Building has become a cornerstone of the Catalina Island experience. With its extensive exhibits on Catalina history as well as world-class traveling exhibits, the museum is a must-do attraction for visitors to the island.
Thanks to the museum staff’s dedication to the community – both the community that lives here and the community that visits here, the museum also offers a regular slate of special programs and events. One of the most popular is First Fridays, an evening of culture and entertainment offered on the first Friday of each month. Each First Friday features a theme highlighting one of the museum’s areas of focus – history, art, music and film. Tickets for First Fridays are $12 for members and $15 for non-members. Refreshments are included along with a short program.
With its extensive exhibit space as well as both indoor and outdoor event space – including an outdoor amphitheater with room for film projection – the Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building is the ideal venue to explore Catalina Island history and culture.
