Avalon Homes - 216 Whittley C - 2 bedrooms - 1.75 baths
This is the upper and largest unit of this Victorian triplex. Only a couple of blocks up the hill and 26 steps to get to the top, but well worth the climb. Both bedrooms have a queen bed, and there is a double Murphy bed in the living room. This unit boasts lots of sunshine and ocean views from the living area and the large rooftop deck. It offers an open floor plan, fully equipped kitchen, stacked washer/dryer, 43-inch flat panel TV with satellite, VCR and DVD players, stereo, BBQ, and a small library of books, games and extras are there for your enjoyment. No smoking, please.
This property rents on a nightly basis during the non-summer seasons (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted) and on a weekly basis (Sunday to Sunday) in summer (mid-June through Labor Day). Rates vary by week and are subject to change. Rates do not include one-time cleaning and linen fee, 12% City of Avalon occupancy tax, and processing fees.

We love this place, was inmaculate, we will loce to stay there again our kids love it the only thing it was noice bacause of the little cars going up snd down and some coffea mugs where chipt but had a great view fron the condo and the deck, i do recoment this place

This is our second time renting this house and we love it. It has a great view from the kitchen/living room and the deck on top is an even better view. This house is loaded with everything you need for a great time, you only have to bring your personal items and stop off at Von's and pick up a few groceries. Another great thing available in this home, is the use of the washer/dryer which comes in very handy when you have been away from home for over a week. This house is just like being at home...thanks!!! We'll be back!!!

We had an amazing week on Catalina and this rental was a huge part of having a wonderful time. It's spacious, well-stocked, comfortable and the view is beautiful. It truly made it relaxing. So whether we were out hiking, biking or sightseeing, we had a beautiful place to return to or if we wanted to remain at the house, we could enjoy the view. The check in and out was also very convient, pleasant and accomodating. My only complaint is that the regular check-out is 10 am, which I think is quite early for a vacation rental. 11 am or noon seems more reasonable. However, we did go off-season and they were accomodating if it was workable. Due to scheduling, we actually stayed in one of the downstairs units for the first two days. It was nice, but given a choice, I'd always stay upstairs! It's actually great for several families if you needed to rent all 3 units. I've already recommended it to friends and would return again. My family and I absolutely enjoyed this home. It had everything we needed; this home is fully contained and I love the thought the owners put into making it feel like your home; The home was nice and clean, including the deck and outdoors; especially providing toys for children, and providing books and oh, everything in the kitchen is pretty much labeled so you know where things should go; great ideal! Although a steep street and stairwell, the ambiance, panoramic majestic ocean views and sunsets made this hike so well worth it. My daughters were in aW! Everything was pretty much prefect except a little glitch of no hot water in the Kitchen. But I appreciate your fast response in attending to this little inconvenience immediately. Our stay there was just so comfy and cozy. I would rent this home again in a heart beat. Thank you Catalina Vacation Rentals for the ease in using your web site, helping to finalize my plans and an easy check in and out. I've used your service in the past and I believe your professionalism is outstanding. Once again, this is a fantastic home and I can see why the owners love it! We are also thinking of using this home for annual family reunions, so do I hope the owners continue to extend their generosity by continuing to make their home available for my family to enjoy in the future. We love 216 Whittley #c. I'm not sure how many years we've stayed but this past (2012) was our 16th jazz festival and this rental is our favorite, the deck, great views. Our joke is how long can we climb the hill plus the stairs, we're in our 60's, but we hope many more. The staff at the rental agency is great plus the cleaning crew does a wonderful job. This is a charming place. The unit was clean and the kitchen well-appointed. The shower-curtain rod needed replacement. We called and a maintenance man came over right away and installed a new rod. We also had problems with the TV remote but someone came over to help. The only draw-back is that the unit is at the top of three flights of very narrow stairs, so this is not the right place for anyone with knee problems or mobility issues or who cannot carry their luggage up the steps. The views of avalon are gorgeous and the rooftop deck comes equipped with two recliners and a table for 4 under an umbrella. Just bring a citronella candle as the bees were a bother. We had a wonderful time and would happily return.

What an amazing 5 days we spent on Catalina Island. The weather was fantastic, so we did absolutely everything we could there from snorkeling to parasailing to renting golf carts to tour the island. So very picturesque. And our place was just perfect. The beds were very comfortable, the necessary kitchen items were in place, and everything in and around this house had such charm. We absolutely loved the BBQ and the fantastic deck!! We began each day and ended each day from the deck. What a view!! We wrote 2 pages in the guest book. Climbing he hill to get to the house was a bit much, so we made sure to only go up it at the end of each day, saying in and around the area throughout the entire day. Having a golf cart on hand would have really been heaven, but we were OK without it.
