"Maggie's Independence" is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, charming cottage located approximately 2 blocks from the beach and downtown. The 1st bedroom has 2 doubles, the 2nd bedroom has 2 singles, and the living room has a double. Large living room with open floor plan, new flat panel TV, DVD, high speed internet, stacked washer/dryer in the bathroom, and BBQ. No smoking, please.
This property rents on a nightly basis during the non-summer seasons (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted) and on a weekly basis (Sunday to Sunday) in summer (mid-June through Labor Day). Rates vary by week and are subject to change. Rates do not include one-time cleaning and linen fee, 12% City of Avalon occupancy tax, and processing fees.

The house met our needs in regard to sleeping arrangements as well as location.The only item needed was a hair blower.My one complaint was that the windows in the smaller bedroom did not open, making it uncomfortably warm for sleeping. The staff at check-in were less than helpful when asked about local restuartants or happy-hours! They claimed to have no knowledge about either! Once we were settled we found many good places to eat and drink.

We had a wonderful time. I have been coming to Catalina for over 40 years. It is so fun for my kids to expereince what I experienced as a kid. The house was cute and charming and we loved reading about the history of Maggie's Independence.

Staff at Catalina Island Vacation Rentals was very helpful in finding the right accomodatations for our family. Their website made it easy to pick the place that best suited our needs. This cottage was clean and spacious yet still felt comfy/cozy. Owners have a note explaining the history of the cottage and its unique name. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids ages 11, 10, & 7) all got to sleep on a bed (no pull-out sofa or roll-away). This was a big deal for us. Kitchen had all the equipment you need to prepare a meal. Plenty of towels in bathroom. Cable and WiFi available. Cottage was centrally located in avalon ~ and it was an easy walk to all the different restaurants and activities. Only wish would be for an earlier check-in time or later check-out time.

We travel to Catalina every year and have stayed at 219 Claressa many times. It's clean, reasonably priced and just a short walk to the beach. Perfect for our family vacation. This little house holds many fun memories with our kids and now our grandkids.
