Vacation Rental Summary
There is a very very steep incline walk up to the property and then a lot of stairs before entering. That is something to keep in mind if you have trouble walking.
Wonderful home, clean, gorgeous views, close to it all! Very responsive to our concerns, fully equipped home! Loved it will rent it again:)
The service that we received from Catalina Vacation Rentals was mixed. On one hand, when we checked in, the representative was abrupt and not very helpful or welcoming. However, when we requested more hangers and a vacuum, the response was immediate and friendly. The temporary office location for CVR is above the Pancake Cottage. It is up two flights of stairs - which is inconvenient if you want to keep your luggage with you during check-in. The townhouse itself is in an excellent location and it feels like a second home rather than just a vacation rental. The view was fantastic! It is generally well stocked with kitchen equipment, etc. The only negatives with the home itself is that the carpet needs to be replaced and the dishwasher doesn't really clean the dishes- old fashioned pre-washing is required. It would be nice if they included a golf cart for exploring the island, as they do with the Hamilton Cove rentals.
This beautiful home far exceeded our expectations. Better than any hotel! Stunning views of the bay, comfortable beds, huge kitchen , the list goes on... But what impressed us most was the attention to detail and the hospitality. Everything was in great taste, very classy... My only friendly suggestion would be to move the bed in the master bedroom to face out towards avalon Bay... Thank You for a phenomenal stay, we will be back!
We loved so many things about this rental unit -- the location so close to town, the double master suites, the 3 bathrooms, the great view and the beautiful décor. With that said, there were a few missing things that were very disappointing. First, there is no sizeable patio or outdoor space, which is such a shame given the outstanding location/view. If you have more than 1 or 2 people visiting, you can't enjoy the outdoor space -- although we spent 90% of our time on the island outside the condo, we were really sad we couldn't hang out on the patio in the mornings/afternoon. The property seems to have more than enough space for a large patio, so it's rather odd. In addition, although this condo is rather upscale, it has no internet access, which is bizarre in 2013. I'm guessing the owners mean for it to be a place to disconnect; however, everyone today uses wifi to connect to music, the smartphones, their families, etc. Wifi is such a cheap monthly expense that it seems silly not to offer it to guests paying such a premium for a condo rental. Finally, they had no MP3 player or even a CD player in the house to enjoy music -- again, this seems like a no-brainer for a vacation home. We loved sleeping here, but we really didn't enjoy our time in the condo beyond that.
