Vacation Rental Summary
This was my 18 month old Grandson's 1st visit to Catalina. His Mom and Uncle have been vacationing on Catalina since they were 4 and 5 - so I wanted G2 to grow to love Catalina. Our home was wonderful, equipped with everthing needed - just like home. Beach chairs, floats, sand toys - all wonderful. We have booked again for next year. Took the Flying Fish Tour - saw Flying Fish and California Sea Lions. Wonderful tour. Rented a Golf Cart (a car seat was included for the same price)enjoyed driving around and the views and laughs were wonderful. Next year would like to take the Hummer Tour. All the restaurants were good - first time at the Lobster Trap G R E a T! We said that would be our last night on the Island dinner each year. Wifi service wasn't working at our cottage, but we are assured the owners are fixing the problem. We did purchase the Catalina Wifi - so that "those that do Facebook, could Facebook" - some of us are technically challenged! But I sure know my way to Lual Larry's for a Wiki Wack! The concert Saturday evening was great. Also played Bingo on the Beach. Can you tell I love Catalina...Good Bless the Locals and Those That Want To Be...best T-Shirt saying. Looking forward to 2014.
My family and myself loved the home. It is within walking distance to everything. The home was very clean and we loved the bar-b-que that was on the deck. I would rent this home again. This is better than a hotel and with more privacy. All the conforts of home.
Stayed at this house for a weekend with my wife, wife's mother, and another couple with a 2 yr old, but plenty of room. The house was in great shape, passed inspection by my very critical wife. It was a very warm weekend, but plenty of fans to cool things down. Kitchen was well stocked, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Easy access to the beach with an older woman and a toddler. Deck was great, especially in the morning and evening. No problems with check in or late check out. Had to pay a $50 fee to check out at 4:30 but totally worth it because we were able to leave on a late ferry. A little reluctant to write this review for fear it might be booked next time we want to stay in town.
We loved the spacious front room with its row of windows to make it very light and bright. The toys and fold-up crib for the little ones were much appreciated. Upper deck and BBQ were wonderful for gathering and enjoying views and cool night air. We appreciated the central location and easy walk to rental office, market, and pleasure pier and beaches. On the down side, some appliances were quite old and hard to operate, in particular, the coffeemaker (leaked) and dishwasher (soap dispenser hard to close and soap residue on dishes) were troublesome. We couldn't locate any dish towels, and there were no paper towels. The floors seemed quite dirty; we had a nine-month-old crawling around, and knees and feet were black by the end of the day! Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay here quite a lot.
This is a very quaint cottage on Catalina. I would stay here again. The cottage had lots of amenities - beach chairs for use, pots, pans, plates/glassware, games, dvd player, etc. It was clean and comfortable for a family of 5-6. The unit provided a w/d, however it was in need of repair and a bit difficult to work. The unit did not have a/c. The cottage was walking distance to main beach and easy access to everything. Cost on the high side.
