Vacation Rental Summary
We stayed for a long weekend while visiting Catalina for the first time, and this house made us glad we didn't get hotel rooms. We wanted a family style layout so we could cook and eat together, but still have enough room to spread out and for the kids to be play separate from the adults. It was perfect because both downstairs and upstairs have gathering spaces. It's only 3 blocks to the seaside main strip of avalon and no more than a few blocks from almost everything except Descanco Beach Club is a 20 minute slow-paced walk, but we thought Claressa Street was more peaceful than some of the busily trafficked streets right downtown. We were disappointed that the grill was at street level along the side of the house instead of on the patio, as is pictured, but that's a minor point. The only complaint we had was that several of the pots were unusable due to torn up teflon on the bottom and we didn't realize that until we went to cook the first night, but we left a message and Civr brought us new pans in the morning after they opened. We would definitely stay there again.
Well kept property. Love the balcony and the space. Only one problem: the smoke detectors all went off one day. We called that day, but no one came by. That night after midnight, they went off sporadically for about five hours until we took several off the wall. The next day someone did show up, but it took several days to recover from that one night non-sleep!
Our extended family (including 2 young boys) had a wonderful, relaxing time in your home on Catalina. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and enjoy chatting, doing puzzles, reading, eating and just being together. From the balcony, the boys watched cats stalking, fog roll in and out, birds flying, ships in the harbor, and fireworks to celebrate avalon's birthday when they weren't busy exploring the island. The house was an easy walk to the beach and the beach items--including the toys!--were appreciated. We'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Our group of 6 loved our stay at 310 Claressa. The home was perfect, spacious and we loved the décor. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner, except for a large sharp knife, it was well stocked with dishes and utensils. We enjoyed the upstairs living room with the large balcony for evening drinks. We will be renting this lovely home for sure in the near future!!
We have rented this house three times in a row and are scheduled to do it again next year. It's comfortable, clean and ideal for entertaining. It's the best house I've ever rented on the island.
Had a girlfriends weekend here ... There were 8 of us... We all loved the house!! We even talked about how we would like to own the home!! It was comfortable, and had everything we needed!!! Would definetly rent thus home again!!!
This is probably our 5th or 6th avalon home we've rented over the years. Arguably one of our favorites. For a family of five plus two grandparents, it worked out really well. I wish we could know the story about the design of this house. So unique and obviously a lot of thought was put into it. Very comfortable beds. Great amenities. Love the furniture. I've never seen more electrical outlets! The builders are either electricians or have a good friend who is one. Civr was very responsive when we mentioned we wish we had a couple of kitchen items...they brought them to us (brand new) within 20 minutes!
My family was so pleased with this rental in Catalina. It was immaculately clean and organized and was stocked with everything we needed; Towels, extra sheets, dishes, condiments and beach toys. We discovered games in one cupboard and Tv's in every room. The washer and dryer made washing our towels easy throughout the week and the location was perfect. We were a few short blocks from everything and we able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The house has 2 bedrooms downstairs with queen beds and beautiful decor. Porcelain sinks have colorful fish painted on them and the kitchen had everything we needed except a potato peeler. The Master bedroom and upstairs living area were beautiful with a balcony area that opened to the outside seating area. We Bbq'd one night with the gas grill that was provided and really enjoyed this home. My family had fun discovering all the cute decor items such as a ukulele on a wall and many Hawaiian items throughout the home. There was even a cookie jar of Eric's Restaurant that is on the pier in Catalina. The rental staff was helpful and friendly and we had no problems with anything! We will be back again for sure.
