Vacation Rental Summary
This house was very homey and close to the beach. We really could have used another bathroom at times when we were all together in the evening.Kitchen a little small but we managed very well...loved our stay and would rent this home again.
Close to the beach, pier, and shopping. No hills to manage and is just what we needed!
We stayed at this catalina rental for memorial weekend it was great location just walking distance for the beach and a Vons was just on the other block. The house had everything you need. The rooms are excellent a little small but good enough to stay a few nights. A total of 8 people stayed. I will consider this home in the future.
This rental was great! Visited catalina with 7 friends & 1 baby. The condo had everything we needed in a great location. The rental personnel were very nice and easy to do business with. My only complaint is that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper in the house... and it went fast! :)
We had a lovely weekend staying in this cottage with another family. The kids all bunked in together. This is not a luxury cottage. Neither is it advertised or priced as one. But its 50 times more comfortable than camping. I know because we have tried camping at Herman's Gulch and the ground on Catalina is hard! We love the island so if we can find an affordable way to spend a long weekend there we are deliriously happy. This place was perfect, a short walk from the shopping and restaurants in avalon, easy to walk to the beach club at Descanso (much nicer than the town beach). We took the bus up to the Botanical Gardens, and walked back down. We usually hike from there but had a disabled person in our party. By the way the cottage was almost completely wheelchair accessible which we did not expect! (the bathroom and two bedrooms, but not the kitchen. There are a couple of steps into the front door) I only gave 4 stars because of the kitchen. Due to the position of the oven and the fridge, you really can't cook anything. Of course you don't need to because there are lots of restaurants. We wanted a lovely long breakfast together in the morning. The kitchen should be changed or there should be a warning on the listing that it is not functional. In the end I worked out that you could cook in the oven if you kept the refrigerator door open. Also avalon is never quiet. If you want peace go to Two Harbors.
