Avalon Homes - 324 Sumner Ave - 4 bedrooms - 2 baths
We rent this house from the beginning of June to the end of August only. Located on the "flats," it’s about 2 1/4 blocks to the beach and downtown Avalon. This is a large multi-level house with lots of amenities and room to move around. Enter into the spacious living room, go up four steps to the level with the kitchen, dining, the first bedroom and one of the 3/4 baths. Continue up ten more steps to the level with the two bedrooms with doubles, then up four more steps to the master bedroom/bath (3/4) level. The first bedroom has a queen, the second (MBR) has a queen, the third has a double, the fourth has a double, a small loft holds a double and the living room has 2 singles. The third and fourth bedrooms are tandem bedrooms...you must walk through one to get to the other; both have sliders to a small balcony. TV/DVD, stereo, open floor plan, fully equipped kitchen, two tables for dining/playing cards or games, washer/dryer and much more. No smoking, please.
This property rents on a weekly basis (Sunday to Sunday) in summer (beginning of June through the end of August). Rates vary by week and are subject to change. Rates do not include one-time cleaning and linen fee, 12% City of Avalon occupancy tax, and processing fees.

Renting was easy, pretty much hassel free. The home was roomy,but a little warn out. The chairs on the balcony were old and ripped.The material was sun damaged and ripped when sat in.There was a roller on one of the sliders to the balcony missing so door would not roll open. The vertical blinds had missing slats and wouldn't operate correctly. There was a damp musty smell about the place. The cleaning people need to do a better job. I had to spend the first 2 hrs there cleaning the furnace grid by the kitchen,something gross was spilled on it and I cleaned all the fans, because they were black with dust and dirt. The location and the roomyness were great. Four of the lights needed new bulbs, there were some in the cupboards. The towels and linens were clean, did a couple of loads of towels, good to have a washer and Dryer available.

This house is a Great size for a Large Family. We enjoyed our stay there. Not to far from the Beach perfect walking Distance. The home is Well taken care of. The only real Down side is the Owners needs to add few more Tv's This TV was out dated needs a Flat Screen added. One is not enough for the size of the home, espically When you have all age staying there. It was very hard trying to share 1 TV didn't work out very Well. We plan on staying there again. This is probably the 20th time we have spent a week in Catalina. It has become a tradition for my grandchildren. The house is great although if the owners wanted to update the TV to a flat screen and add wi fi it would be lovely. We are very comfortable in this house but would love to upgrade to one with doors on all the bedrooms as the kids are teenagers now, when one is available. It6 looks as though there has been a lot of work done on avalon during the winter. it really shows. We all love avalon and will continue to come each summer. Ronda Landrum

This house is perfect for a family with a wide range of ages. Our family ranges from 74 years of age to 4 years. Plenty of room for activities for everyone. We reserve the house for the 4th of July each year and enjoy the parade and festivities in the day time, and especially enjoy the fact that we can watch the fireworks from the balcony!

This home meets our family needs. Sometimes we have 10 in our family stay here and it is spacious and loud with children, grandchildren and we grandparents. This there were five of us and it was very spacious, and the one grandchild got to try out five different beds. But he much preferred the ship's loft!!!
