This was a very clean cottage, all the kitchen items one needs and well organized. Location is very central, can walk anywhere. We loved the front porch! and back private patio with charcoal BBQ! The only complaint is they only supplied 1 roll of paper towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper, plus 2 mini bars of soap for the shower. This was for 4 nights and 4 adults. Thought that was cheap. We had to go buy our own.

I know it sounds cliche, but this rental was truly a home away from home. We weren't missing anything other than food for the weekend. The house itself was in very good shape, since it was built in the early 20s or so, and so charming! The location was perfect; it was only three blocks to the beach and the pier and the area was beautiful and quiet. I can't wait to go back to Catalina Island and hopefully stay here in this house.

My husband,(daughter, son-in-law) and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary over New Year's weekend. We had our honeymoon in avalon! The cottage was less expensive than two hotel rooms and the atmosphere (cute and cozy) was perfect for our family. We are accustomed to camping, so we brought sleeping bags and sleeping hats and we were glad that we did. This cottage is quite old (quaint) and not well insulated. It has a good heater, but we didn't want the noise all night, so we turned it off. It was freezing! So was the bathroom down the hall. So I'd recommend this cabin mostly for summer use or for hearty camper-types! Personally, we loved it...the décor is cute and nautically inspired. The kitchen is well appointed so we enjoyed cooking dinners at home. To celebrate our anniversary, we ate breakfast at Mount ada (reservations required). We are a frugal family and felt that we really got our money's worth! The management came right away when we had a little problem with a lamp...they are very nice, too. When we return to avalon, we'll try to rent this cottage again.

Beginning with my call to Civr to rent this home to the time I left the island, I had a great experience. I love this home! It is actually the third time my friends and I have rented this same place for an annual getaway. It is clean, comfortable, and in the perfect location - close enough to walk to everything but far enough away to be away from the crowds.

Had a fabulous time with my family! 330 Sumner had everything we needed. We plan on coming back again! And the staff at Civr were courteous and kind as well.

This was our 2nd time renting this house for a week. The owners have items available to renters for convenience. We used a wagon that was on the property to tote things to the beach everyday, washer & dryer to pack less than you normally would for a one week get away, extra blankets for the hide-a-bed (where the kids slept)... We will be staying again next year for our annual trip to avalon. Visiting since 1978 :) ~Heather P.S. Theft is up this year per the Sheriff officer I spoke with. We left a red grocery type cart on the front porch & it was stolen :( Lesson learned that we keep things locked up which has never been a problem in all the years I have visited.

Rental was recommended by a good friend who stayed at the property a few months earlier and it was everything it needed to be for a 3 day adventure. We lost out on our first travel day because of high winds out of Long Beach; however, a stay at the Queen Mary Hotel worked out well. 330 Summer ave is a well maintained, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated bungalow. It made the stay for our family of 5 most enjoyable. With Cable TV wired in the rental, it would have been nice to have Wifi for our multiple devices to link up to. But I guess it all worked out being cut off from the real world for a few days!
