Avalon Homes - 331 Descanso - 3 bedrooms - 1.75 baths

This is a quaint three bedroom, 1 3/4 bath cottage located approximately three blocks from downtown and the beach. The three bedrooms are classic Catalina tandem bedrooms (queen, twins with trundles, queen MBR/full bath) with an open floor plan for the living space. This home will sleep a maximum of 8. You will find a new flat panel TV in the living area and a fully equipped kitchen with a pass through window/counter. No smoking, please.


This vacation home rents on a nightly basis (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted; 3 night minimum mid-June through Labor Day). Rates subject to change and may vary by week. Rates do not include one-time cleaning and linen fee, 12% City of Avalon occupancy tax, and processing fees.

    We absolutely loved this house! It slept our family of 5 very comfortably and had everything we needed except a garlic press, cheese grater and wine glasses :) It was close enough to walk to everything but just far enough away to not hear constant golf carts. Having the Vons Express close by was great! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cute and comfortable home on the island. Just a few recommendations: a collapsible wagon to carry stuff to beach or dinghy dock and the back bathroom sink needs a new faucet. The shower pressure, valve and hot water was excellent! Kitchen was well outfitted except for the above mentioned. All in all, a great home!

    This house was fine for a short stay: the living room is comfortable (especially the sofa) and has open access to the small kitchen. The two bathrooms were absolutely necessary as we had an almost full house. The master-bedroom bath includes a closet (which proved to be very handy for getting suitcases out of the way in the bedroom). My only suggestion is that a bit of touch-up paint in the bathrooms and removal of rusted soap trays, and perhaps a bit more beach decor throughout would make make this rental feel brighter. Great service from Civr!

    We actually stayed at 89 Sol Vista. As Far as Civr goes. You guys were amazing!! Very pleased! The condo on the other hand was OK. The pillows are useless. I had to stack 3 to make 1. No filling. We were only left with 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom that wasn't even a full roll so the first order of business was to go to Von's to get more. The golf cart was nice to have but really needs some work. I even had to wash it myself because it was very dirty. The people across the alley has a dog that barks/yaps all the time. Very annoying. Never the less we had a great week. I have been going to the island for 35+ years so its kinda like home for me. We are already trying to look at weeks for next summer but would pick a different property unless some of these issues were addressed. See you next year.
