Avalon Homes - 331 Descanso - 3 bedrooms - 1.75 baths
This is a quaint three bedroom, 1 3/4 bath cottage located approximately three blocks from downtown and the beach. The three bedrooms are classic Catalina tandem bedrooms (queen, twins with trundles, queen MBR/full bath) with an open floor plan for the living space. This home will sleep a maximum of 8. You will find a new flat panel TV in the living area and a fully equipped kitchen with a pass through window/counter. No smoking, please.
This property rents on a nightly basis during the non-summer seasons (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted) and on a weekly basis (Sunday to Sunday) in summer (mid-June through Labor Day). Rates vary by week and are subject to change. Rates do not include one-time cleaning and linen fee, 12% City of Avalon occupancy tax, and processing fees.

We had plenty of room with a family and friends that totaled 8 people.. Showers where still warm on the 8th shower of the day, clean place and they allowed us to check out later since no one rented out that day! Great Value and friendly neighbors.. They did not have a wine opener, but no problem we just asked the neighbors.. yay.

We liked the place, which is spacious enough for 6 adults. It was clean when we got there. The only thing that I would suggest adding to the unit is an electric fan in the living room, and perhaps a complimentary golf cart which is the popular form of transport in the island added to the rental package. Definitely, this is a place we would stay in again when we go back to Catalina Island.

We enjoyed our stay @ 331 Descanso. We hadn't been to the island in over 20 years, but it was just as we remembered it. As far as the house, all the amenities we needed were there, it was clean and the location was great. Even though we had to walk through one bedroom to get to the next, it was ok because it added to the charm of the property. (Although if you're sharing the house with people other than family, this might not be the property for you.) Overall, we had a great week here!

Nice, quiet location. The house had plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The kitchen was well equipped. There was a dining table for 4 people, so our family of 5 could not all sit down together. This was not convenient for a family dinner, but it was fine for coffee and cereal in the morning and sandwiches for lunch. This house does not have a washer and dryer and it was difficult to find places to hang wet bathing suits and towels. Checking in was easy. The ladies in the office were friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again.
