This was our first family trip to Catalina and Civr was absolutely great to work with. The office staff was very helpful and accommodating! We arrived to the island on a morning boat and asked for early check in. The office gladly took our cell # and called as soon as our house was cleaned and ready. We were thrilled! The house has a perfect location, easy 5 minute walk to everything in avalon. The house has a vintage feel that was very warm and comfortable. We were very happy with the size for our family of 5. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and even had a back porch charcoal BBQ . The linens were fresh and clean. Both bedroom closets were stocked with blankets, pillows, extra towels and fans. The furniture is dated, but family friendly and clean. I would give 4 stars if the mattresses were more comfortable. The 2 twins are good, but the double and couch mattresses should be replaced. We made the best of it, but a queen mattress would definately be more comfortable for couples. This house is not luxury, but it works well for an everyday family happy to be on a beautiful Island. We all enjoyed our stay at 338 Descanso, We would definitely stay here again! Overall it was a perfect location, quiet, clean, comfortable, affordable and family friendly :)

This my first time using Catalina Island Vacation Rentals and I was very glad to get a house because all of the other ones I found were full and they were the only ones that had a house that would be able to accommodate our party size and the lady on the phone that helped me with the reservation was pretty nice. However, for the house that we stayed at (338 Descanso if its okay to share) was kind of old. And I have nothing against old houses its just that the doors inside the house didn't close all the way. One of the closet doors was very hard to open (this one had the extra pillows so kinda important). Out of the 4 pillows on the beds (and more in the closet) only 1 had a pillow case and no other pillow cases to be found. The towels were a bit thin and probably need to be turned into rags. We didn't use any of the kitchen appliances so I don't have any idea how well they work (except the fridge) but the fridge was a bit rusty on the ouside (is that too nitpicky? sorry if it is) and the couch was fairly comfortable but the two seats next to it... the cushions definitely need replacing. The bedrooms of the house are the ones that there were two rooms (you have to walk through one to get to the other) and one of the rooms had a full sized bed - but only width-wise and length-wise it was like a child's bed! So odd that they would have such a small bed. But the office staff seemed nice enough. The check-in and check-out was painless and again we were very glad to get a house for the weekend.
