Vacation Rental Summary
We had a fabulous time in Catalina and a lot of it had to do with the location of our rental. It's located relatively central to everything we wanted to do and close to a Ralph's for extra snacks/drinks/toiletries. We arrived off the ferry earlier than the check in time but the office graciously allowed us to drop off our luggage at the rental while the cleaners were there. This rental sleeps 4 comfortably. The sofa/bed was a little confusing to master in the beginning but once you get it set up, it's surprisingly comfortable to sleep on. The upstairs room and bed was great. The only gripe about this rental that we had was that the fan controller upstairs was missing. However, there is a portable room fan that was included and we definitely used it a lot upstairs. There were plentiful towels, 2 small bars of soap, and a bottle of combo shampoo/conditioner. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this rental.
My family & I stayed in this apartment from June 29 to July 2. The Island is great, it was the second time for my wife & I and first time for my daughters. Beware, this place does not have a/C; they have a ceiling Fan in both living room and bedroom, but the one in the bedroom was broken. So they had a regular fan in the bedroom closet, which it was also broken. If you are from Southern California, you know those days were the worst heat so far this year, so our first night was not pleasant at all. Next day there was a water leak, from the bathroom right into the kitchen. I went to the office and they told me they were going to send a maintenance guy. He went and left me a note to call. He later told us they couldn't fix the bathroom because it needs new caulking and it was going to take 4 day to dry... So, we stay there despite of the leak but were careful on not splashing a lot in the bathtub. The maint. guy took us a new fan for the BR. The maintenance guy & the girls in the office were all friendly and polite. I just would have known in advance the unit didn't have an a/C. The aptment looks exactly as the pictures, some appliances look actually brand new (fridge, microwave, etc). Bedding and linens are OK, not great. The futon is in terrible shape but acceptable. The bed was great. This is a super quiet town, however all those golf carts are really noisy at night, and the apartment is right on the street. Especially the living room where the futon is, and where my daughters slept, was noisy at night. In general, our time there was great, despite those minor problems.
