We had my Catalina Grandparents memorial that weekend and this cute little house fit our needs perfectly. We were able to have a BBQ for a lot of the guests after the official day was done and the location was great for people watching and convienent to the Country Club and Cemetary. It's a little far for some people but very easy to catch a taxi.

This was our first trip to Catalina with our kids. This house was just right for what we needed. With six children (all under 10), we were able to sleep in this small but cozy home. However, there definitely would not be enough seating for us all to eat if it hadn't been for the outdoor picnic table (which wouldn't work so well if it were cold outside). While it is a cute little home, it is on a very loud and busy corner. We liked it because we loved the people watching and the kids liked waving to everyone driving/walking by. Having a washer/dryer is great; but it would help to have a dishwasher, especially when there's that many people eating there. The "master bedroom" has the most uncomfortable bed so you'd want to bring something to put on top of the mattress. All in all, it was a great first trip for the family and we made lots of lasting memories during this trip. For the location and price, this is a great house (if you get used to the traffic noise).

My family and I stayed the weekend in this quaint little house and really enjoyed ourselves. The house sleeps 8 pretty comfortably and has the basic amenities. The house was clean and cozy and accomodates a family with small children. There were a few things we would have liked provided as part of our rental fee to make our stay a little easier. First, the house is advertised as being close to the beach. This is somewhat true, as the house is about 5 minutes from town but it is located at the very top of Sumner. I had the impression that it was a little closer and rented it because of the stated closeness of town due to our small children. Also, the kitchen is not very accomodating. It is too small to prepare a full meal and there are very few pots and pans, utensils and counter space to cook for a family. Another issue we had is that there are no beach towels provided. I have never stayed at a rental beach house that did not provide any beach towels. Lastly, make sure you go to the store to pick up paper towels. They only leave you with 1 roll and it goes fast with a large family. The only other issues we had was the temperature of the house. We were fortunate to go to Catalina while the weather was still warm. Unfortunately, the house does not have any a/C and there really isnt much of a breeze even with all the windows open. They do have a ceiling fan in the kitchen, but the master bedroom gets ridiculously warm at night and we were pretty miserable during the middle of the night. Don't get me wrong, this house is a great place to rent for a weekend but I thought it would be helpful to list some of the things that were challenging for our family so the next one can prepare for them.

We really enjoyed this cute little avalon cottage. It was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. Best of all, it included a washer and dryer. This was so nice since we have young children!

My friends and I went to Catalina for a girls weekend... We could have not have asked for accomadations. The location is close enough to downtown and just a short walk to Descanso beach. The house is adorable and suited us perfectly. We loved the corner spot on Tremont and Sumner. At least one of my girl friends mentioned that they would love to come back with there families and stay at the same house. I was 100% pleased with the residence!

We had a great stay over all. I had the bedroom with the attached bathroom. The bed was so hard, I actually did not sleep at all. That really is the only complaint. The kids enjoyed days at Descanso beach and I rode in the Gran Fondo biking event. We would come again if the bed is different! Thanks, Shelly

We stayed here almost 16 years ago when we got married on the island. We came back last week and brought our now 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son to stay for Spring Break. It was as wonderful as I remembered and we were able to share those memories with our kids. We had a great time and the house was very comfortable. Catalina Island Vacation Rentals were very helpful and took care of everything.
