We felt welcome (with two small grandchildren ~ ages 1 1/2 & 3 years). The condo was kid friendly; child gate for stairs, lovely books, etc. Sleeping arrangements were perfect with a bathroom off each bedroom. The golf cart that was included was a definite plus. Will definitely reserve this condo for our next visit to the Island. Rental agency was gracious & allowed us an additional hour so baby could nap prior to check out.

We rented this condo for 5 nights. It was close to town with just a very slight uphill walk. The condo was comfortable and clean, kitchen reasonably well stocked, ceiling fans in living room and both bedrooms. It was hotter than we expected, in the mid-80's, so a/C would have been nice at night for sleeping. It was nice to have the golf cart to explore all around avalon. The swimming pool/jacuzzi was closed the whole time we were there, which was disappointing, but when I mentioned that while turning in the keys, we were credited back 10% of the rental cost which I thought was very nice and fair of Civr to do.

We enjoyed staying at this location. Mosly because it included a golf Cart. We usually stay at Bahia Vista. We will stay at Sol Vista again because we really liked the place. Very accommadating for a family. Catalina Island vacation rentals are awesome. Love dealing with the entire friendly staff.

Pros: * Well equipped kitchen * Recently remodeled bathrooms * Golf cart with parking literally a few steps from front door * Close to town but no street noise nor significant hills * Downstairs powder room in addition to two en suite baths Cons: * Other than lack of view, none of significance, at least by Catalina standards

My parents have been renters of 89 Sol Vista for a number of summers now, usually we have joined them. This year, now that we have a family of 5 we decided to rent our own condo at the same time. It was a terrific experience as the cousins were able to play together and we had 2 places to hang out between the families. Pros Having 3 bathrooms was really nice as was the full washer & dryer. It was great to quickly dry the towels after a jaunt to the pool in the afternoon. The breakfast bar in the kitchen/family room was a terrific place for the kids to eat & hang out together. The home was clean & well kept & there was plenty of dishware/glassware available. Its nice to have a kitchen/ fridge to keep snacks & drinks & to supplement our meals out. Having a golf cart was very helpful especially to ferry groups out to Lover's Cove for snorkeling or for quick trips to the store, although most of the time we all just walked to town. It's a nice stroll. Cons The master bedroom although listed as a king sized bed is only a queen. Not a big deal for us but if you needed that size it would be a disappointment. The dishwasher doesn't seem to rinse cleanly at the end of the cycle (dishes & glasses felt dusty) but I'm not sure if its the machine or new formulas in the detergents. The carpeting downstairs could use a good deep cleaning, but I'm not a huge fan of carpeting anyways.

We have stayed there for many years and like it because there are lots of cooking utensils and such. The master bed is not to comfortable and the sheets on all the beds pop off during to middle of the night and then you feel like you are sleeping on plastic. there is no remote for the tv in the master bedroom.
