Vacation Rental Summary
nice view of the harbor area but a 1/4 mile walk. furnishings were old but clean and out dated. there are steps and an elevator to get to the apartment not much privacy on the deck. I would rate it fair to average.
Location was the only positive for this rental- Although close to the water front its nestled on a quite street. Property is very peaceful and quiet. However the unit we stayed in definitely needs a serious upgrade. The bed linen was awful. The comforter and blanket was filled with hair probably from the previous guest who stayed there. Was very repulsive to see this. The bed skirt was torn and shreds hanging on both sides of the bed. Both the toilets would clog all the time and I had to end up using the plunger. The bath tub did not drain well and took about 5-10 minutes to drain. The living room furniture too was old, dirty and stained. The kitchen utensils were very old. The glass tumblers are so old and badly stained that we had to buy disposables. The rental charges a $90 cleaning fee but we have to wash the dishes before we leave and are asked to dispose our garbage. For almost $280 a night I think the owners/management company can definitely do a better job of providing a cleaner more comfortable unit if they want return customers.
My wife and I stayed in this unit for 3 nights. Here's the good and the bad: Positives- Spacious one bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen. Huge balcony with amazing view!! comfortable living room.Large sliding doors in each room leading to balcony.Other than the kids above us, it was a surprisingly quiet complex. The pool looked inviting but not many people used it. I guess if you can walk to the beach you don't need a pool. Negatives- Although the there was an elevator to the floor of the unit, there was a lot of steps and a long walk to get to the unit. Having heart issues, it would have been good to know that in advance. It took some time to air out the room when we got there. Warm and stuffy until airing out. The Tv's were older, not flat screen, but we hardly had time to watch anyway. The people above us must have had kids who were jumping/running until they went to bed around 10pm. The carpet desperately needed to be cleaned or replaced Once we settled in it was very comfortable. It was at the end of town, which made it nice for the view, but a little longer walk to town.Keep in mind this would not be a problem for someone in good physical condition (or a golf cart!). The day we got there, there were no screen doors but the next day when we got back to the room, someone had put new ones on!!
