Vacation Rental Summary
Need to be able to walk up and down stairs with the luggage. Unit is over pool, so it can be noisy. We didn't have proper bedding for the sleeper sofa. The rental company took care of our needs promptly.
Unit was nice. Bathroom definitely needs some TLC. Everything else has been upgraded nicely. There are lots of stairs to get to this unit. We have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. Definitely not stroller friendly.
Very clean Fully Equipped Condo with every plate, dish and applicance needed. A BBQ on the large deck. Quiet place to sleep. % min walk to every where. I felt like I was in this quiet little microsphere on Catalina that was an amazing place to stay while working here.
We decided to travel to Catalina with family for a few days at the last minute. Tried to stay at a couple of Hotels but most were booked. The people at Catalina Vacation Rentals were great to deal with, they made the booking easy. We checked in at their office not far from the dock and picked up the keys. The condo is a 7 minute walk from downtown Avalon, it is a bit confusing finding the exact condo in the maze of the buildings which make up the complex, which has a lot of stairs even with using the elevator. The complex is in decent shape for an older building, the pool and Jacuzzi were very nice and clean. It was a bit concerning when we entered the hallway to the door of the condos the carpet was dirty and we could smell cigarette smoke. (This smell did go away after a day) However the condo itself was very nice and clean with plenty of room for 4 people. It has new furniture and flooring. Plenty of dishes, utensils, even a good selection of spices. New coffee maker, toaster oven and clean refrigerator. A good size balcony with a grill and patio furniture that overlooks the pool area, which never got too loud during our stay. The bathroom was clean but a little on the rough side. The baseboards needed to be replaced and the shower enclosure was very old and in need of new rollers on the door. But overall it was a great find at the last minute, would easily stay there again.
