Vacation Rental Summary
Except for the carpet that needs to go, this is a very nice condo. The views of avalon and the hillside are great. Even the sofa bed was acceptable. As has been noted previously, the cooking utensil situation is terrible. The frying pan was badly burned. I mentioned it to the Civr office and they got us a new one stat! They are very pleasant and helpful to the max. I accidently left the packet from Civr in the taxi. Civr was right there to make sure everything got straightened out. We met some of the nicest people you could ask for during our stay. We are looking forward to returning to Catalina again and would definitely use Civr again.
We've stayed in several condos at Bahia Vista over the years, including several visits to C59, and it is one of our favorites. Can't beat the view from the terrace with nice patio furniture. Loved the new BBQ and always enjoy the great wall-mounted TV, the super comfortable, huge bed, and the lovely, updated bathroom. Would give C59 a 5-star rating, but the kitchen has been lacking adequate furnishings since we first stayed there. It's fine if you don't plan on doing much cooking - newer fridge and decent appliances - but very short on utensils and accessories. There were no kitchen towels when we arrived, but after a call to the office, brand new towels and dishcloths were delivered. The coffee maker fell apart on us the first morning, but again, after a call to the office, a nice, new Mr. Coffee-maker was delivered and set up for us. (Thank you Civr - your office staff is terrific!) No coffee mugs, just dinky little teacups, no oven mitts or potholders, no spatulas, very limited glassware (no wine glasses!). The utensils that are there were not all that clean and are pretty awful-looking. Aside from that, this condo is a great vacation getaway and we highly recommend it.
