Vacation Rental Summary
My husband and I make a trip to Catalina almost annually to celebrate our anniversary and we always stay at Hamilton Cove. This is by far the best villa we have stayed at. This year we brought our daughters (age 3 & 5) and being right on the grass was fantastic! The villa was very private, is right next to the beach & easy walking distance to the park & heated pool. Our family had a blast & felt right at home. Very nice & comfortable villa. Only downfall was the lack of wireless internet & no DVD players... but we made do just fine for our long weekend stay. The owners were great to work with & let us stay until our boat left in the afternoon - which was a definite bonus. We will be staying here again for sure!
My husband and I were celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary and friends had recommended Catalina for a wonderful long weekend getaway. We had looked into hotels that were in the downtown area that had included the transportation over in their pricing but when we stumbled upon the Hamilton Cove condos, we couldn't resist the views. It was a little more money since the transportation to the island was not included but I would say you get so much more for your money and well worth the extra dollars spent. Amazing views, a full kitchen and use of the golf cart which was fantastic. The area was really quiet which was another reason we chose to stay away from downtown (the downtown area gets loud at night on the weekends). Getting down to the main downtown area took less than 10 minutes so it's very convenient. The taxi service took us from the ferry to the office to get our condo keys and then directly to the condo (all this took less than 30 minutes!). At check-out, the taxi driver took our keys for us to the office so we could go right to the ferry (who does that!). The condo was super cute, a beautiful rustic feel to the place. The only negative comment I would make is that they have to change the mattress on the king size bed. It felt like it was a 20-year old mattress that sloped to one side. After three nights in the bed, our backs were killing us. But overall, I would definitely recommend this condo to others. We spent so much time on the patio with 180 degree views, soaking it all in, drinking wine and watching the boats, swimmers and seals along the coast...It really was truly Paradise! Thanks for a wonderful Weekend!
I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of our room. It was clean, relaxing, very accommodating, and just far away enough from avalon to provide a serene escape. However it was close enough for a convenient trip to the store if needed. The view was perfect and the property was well maintained. We had a quiet and peaceful weekend with a few exciting excursions! Coming "home" to our room was always a delight after enjoying ourselves on the island. And the provided golf cart gave us freedom to enjoy more of what the island has to offer.
Unit was great. Check-in and check-out were easy.
This 1 bedroom unit which faces the Pacific Ocean and Orange County coastline is clean and quiet. Decorated in a European country style it is warm and homey. My favorite was the trundle daybed, tucked in a corner of the living room where I could lounge with my iPad, watch TV, and had a fresh air view of the northern Catalina coast through the window alongside. There are few steps involved in reaching the unit and while the deck is part of a long common stretch, it is cordoned off enough to feel very private.
