Vacation Rental Summary
Our unit was just perfect! The most immediate thing you notice when entering the unit is the spectacular 180 degree water view from the balcony, which runs the entire length of the unit. The unit was nicely appointed, clean and extremely comfortable. Our only complaint is the fact that the golf cart only carries 4 adults, when the unit capacity is 6 people. With 6 people in the unit, transportation was actually a problem.
Based on the description and the cost per night, I admit I had high expectations for the condo. Pros of the place were: Rental was an easy process. Ocean View was phenomenal. Kitchen was totally outfitted to allow for cooking meals. Located near water and no golf cart noise when you were in the condo. Walking distance to pool and fishing pier. Elderly friendly as there were only a couple of steps to climb for my 77 year old mother. Cons were: For the price, the place was not maintained and I won't rent there again as there are better choices in Buildings 10 and 11 for the price. Shower was dirty with sandy footprints in it when we showed up. Dishwasher was obnoxiously loud and made the dishes dirtier instead of cleaning them. Washing machine was broken - and had been reported broken multiple times we were told but wasn't fixed. The porch furniture was cheap and some of it broken. Master BR bed was good but guest BR bed was low quality. The unit has a lot of potential to be a great rental but needs some TLC and upgrading by the owner before we would rent it again (or they need to lower the nightly rate).
Our stay in Hamilton Cove was fabulous. We felt so much at home and enjoyed every minute of our stay!
It has the best location. Also, golf cart is a must.
We had a wonderful time, and the weather was great and we were very private in this Villa. Large deck, awesome view, and had lots of fun at the "Sand Trap" for happy hour. The only thing is that the stove is old and needs replacing or new burners? And the steak and cutting knives did not cut well at all! We did a lot of cooking! The beds were comfortable and furnishings too, also nice big dining room table! Thanks for a great time in paradise, The arnetts.
Villa 11-49, where we have stayed several times, is now wired for WiFi and the usual ocean sounds from both bedrooms remain our favorite aspect. The new shower heads are great. A TV in the Master Bedroom would be nice. Golf cart has had some work done on it as well. Will be back in ?Dec 2012 for the Wwii Exhibit in the Museum and again for Jazz Trax in 2013. The condo was great and easy to get keys and access. Loved having laundry facilities and a grill in the condo. Loved watching Ca sea lions and dolphins swim past our balcony! Avalon was great for our relaxing get away with shopping, great restaurants, and semi sub tour. Our teenage son enjoyed zip lining, rock climbing and tennis. Did not care for the golf cart experience to get gas. We took the instructed high hills to get to the gas pump, but followed locals on the low road to return, even though there were signs warning of falling rocks. Wish we were told of the option to begin with or given an option to have someone else fill it up for us.
I loved this unit. I am a regular vacationer to the island and I always stay at Hamilton Cove and this unit was by far the best one for the view! I loved it! Although the only thing I would recommend is supplying a few more blankets. There was only one blanket for the sofa bed and no other blankets to be found :( It gets chilly at night and that one small/thin blanket was not enough. Other than that we loved our stay at this unit. It was comfortable and inviting and really...the best view. We will stay here again for sure!
My family and I stay here every year in May,and always hate to leave and go home. our children love it. this trip they got to go Zip lining with us. we all had a blast.
