Vacation Rental Summary
What a wonderful condo with a great view. This is the third time we have stayed at Hamilton Cove and this was the nicest rental ever (although all other rentals were very nice too). Each unit comes with a golf cart which was necessary to get to town and great to go sightseeing with. Our unit had a washer and dryer which cut down on luggage. There is a small rocky beach at the complex which had great snorkeling but the water was cold (67 degrees). There is a nice putting course at the complex but the rental unit didn't have any golf clubs which was a shame. Nice pool. Previous rentals did have golf clubs. This is the most relaxed place to stay on the island. Note: this unit required climbing a lot of stairs it was built on the side of a mountain-not handicap friendly.
Hamilton Cove was a great place to stay and we appreciated the use of the golf cart (although it was a little stinky). The front room and the master bath were nice. Our major complaint was the kitchen. There was a very limited number of dishes including only 7 dinner plates from two different sets. The coffee maker was old and took forever to brew a pot of coffee.
You'll be happy to know that this villa recently sold and the new owners are in the process of updating flooring, furniture, appliances and clearing out the laundry area. A new cart has been ordered, as well.
Thanks for taking the time to comment,
Love Hamilton Cove!!! The 10 of us stayed in 2 condos, one at the top and one on the water, couldn't have been any more beautiful or glorious. We've been to Greece, Italy, the Caribbean numerous times, and Hamilton Cove is just as special as going on a 12 hour flight, timezone dilemmas, etc. Please don't go to Hamilton Cove, I want it to be our special secret for a perfect holiday!
We had a great time here with our 2 year old. The only complaint is the beds are extremely hard. The condo is updated in style but the mattresses are not the best. This did not effect our visit, but we would not return to this particular condo due to that issue. Hamilton Cove is fabulous! and Descanso Beach is a must!
Thanks for your response. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We will talk with the owners about replacing the mattresses.
We used two other villas this summer and this was the worst golf cart. On the second day it just stopped, had to call maintenance and they got us replacement for a day. It is very noisy and smelly, no other carts were like that, I am assuming it was much older. Sise wise, we stayed in a much bogger two bedroom before for the same amount of money.
We have been coming to HC and renting this unit for many years starting with 3 days and staying 10 this year. There is no other place like it on the Calif. coast and so accessible. As you say on the post card it's like a number of places on the Mediterainian where we have stayed. And now there are a few good restaurants in town. Our children are now coming for a few days each year and taking advantage of the 2nd and bath. The recent interior redecorate makes it even more comfortable.
