The downstairs master bedroom suite, with a full bath, also has an exterior entry/exit door (only 25 steps to this level). This cozy and comfortable condo is close to the clubhouse, pool and fitness center, and the washer/dryer are conveniently located in the laundry room just outside the front door of the villa. While planning a visit with our daughter and her fiance in la we decided to include a long holiday weekend at Catalina Island. The rental process was a breeze. Everything was done on-line. Once we arrived, we walked a few blocks from the ferry and picked up the keys to the property. It took less time than registering at a hotel. We rented a 1 bedroom 2 bath condo at Hamilton Coves. This worked well as there was a bedroom/bath on a lower level. The upper level had the kitchen,living area w/sofa bed, bathroom, and terrace with bbq. Each floor had a separate entrance adding privacy for both couples. The location was perfect...walking distance to the pool, spa, beach and sporting activities such as tennis, croquet, and an 18 hole putting green. A golf cart was included which provided transportation to avalon and Descano Beach - 1-2 miles from the condo. Beautiful area with many deer. I would have given a 5 star rating but the couple on the main floor said the sofa bed was so uncomfortable that they ended up sleeping on the floor. We definately plan on returning.

The couch bed was horrible, it was like laying on metal springs. There should be a game to for kids/teens such as pool or ping ping commissioners how off path this site is. On a positive, great view. ohh lastly workea should work after 8 a.m. and not earlier for a vacation they were too loud for the guests.

Thanks for your response. The owners have replaced the sofa sleeper mattress with one that is thicker and much more comfortable.
Regarding the work being done that he scheduled thru the association. And we have been in contact with them to discuss when they do need to do any repairs to communicate this with us. Doing this will hopefully minimize any disruption of your time with us.

This is a very clean rental unit with gorgeous views and a great location. The stairs are a bit of a hindrance but all units in Hamilton Cove have stairs, plenty of them. The golf cart was a pretty stripped down model and I didn't really appreciate having to fill it up at a station a half hour away. This unit is listed as sleeping four comfortably and that is actually a half-lie: the pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable and our guests ended up sleeping on the floor instead. If they're going to say it sleeps four they need to upgrade the mattress!

The comment regarding the sofa sleeper were shared with the owner and they have replaced the mattress. Also not all of our units have as many exterior stairs. We have put the number of stairs at the bottom of the property page.
It is our hope that they main road to the gas station will be open soon so you will not have to drive as far to fill up your golf cart.

The unit was nice; could use a few upgrades. The fold out couch mattress definately needs to be replaced...not great for one; extremely uncomfortable for two. Good location and view.

Well maintained condo - having a golf cart included is a real plus. Easy check in and check out.
