Vacation Rental Summary
The place was nice. The dishwasher did not work and although someone came to repair it, it still did not work, therefore we had to wash dishes. That wasn't too good. The unit was a lot smaller than the previous one; and there wasn't much seating for friends to visit who were also staying in another unit. With that being said, the overall experience was great.
We stayed here in September of 2014. The condo was very clean and it had a lovely location and a lovely view. We enjoyed the moonrise and sunrise each morning. The problems were this....we were told there was a pull out couch for extra sleeping. The pull out couch had springs coming out of it and was the worst mattes i have ever seen. Also....we were super excited about the golf cart experience and the golf cart for this unit was clunky and needed a tune up. If the mattress and golf cart were as described....i would give it 5 stars.
We went to Catalina with 2 other couples and rented this one bedroom and they had the two bedroom next door that shared the balcony. It was AWESOME! Very few steps to get to the front door, well equipped kitchen and the furnishings were great. The king bed was comfortable and the view was amazing. We could watch the dolphins and seals playing in the water every morning and evening. The golf cart was the best thing ever, we used it to go to town for groceries, site seeing and restaurants. It was a must have and a welcome addition to the already outstanding property. There was a problem with the sewer system while we were there (nothing that could have been foreseen) and we had to leave a day early but the rental company made every effort to accommodate us in another property and let us keep the golf cart for the day. We have dubbed this our "Sr. Citizen Spring Break" and we will return to this property.
Condo was just as presented. The bed was good, the kitchen and bath were updated and beautiful. The 200 or so stairs down to the pool and spa sort of made those amenities less desirable. But the views, the pods of dolphins which played off shore every morning and afternoon, wow! Sort of like your own luxury tree house above it all. The golf cart needs to be serviced or the engine updated - fumes. But the same cart made the town's restaurants and amenities accessible and exploration of the City a super fun and easy adventure. We rented through Civr, which was friendly and professional. Friends rented through craigslist and paid half for a different unit, perhaps not so nice as this.
An excellent Villa with an amazing view. Fantastic facilities in the villa and outside, including the pool, spa, tennis, golf cart and golf. The only complaint is that the pull out bed in the lounge area needs a better mattress on it. Preferably foam. Other than that it was a wonderful vacation!
We stayed the week after the 4th of July and enjoyed the location, the view, the facilities and the service from the management companies. The Condo had recently been updated in the bathroom suite which was very attractive. The unit lacked any meaningful instructions on how to use the television and especially the wireless internet connection. The golf cart ran poorly and was in clear need of a tuneup. The lack of ceiling fans or some means of ventilating the unit without leaving the front door open at night was a serious shortcoming. The comfort afforded by the furniture was marginal. We have stayed at Hamilton Cove before and appreciated this unit's ease of access and its quietness. The view as always was spectacular.
This was our 40th wedding anniversary. We only had a long weekend so we wanted to pack as much spectacular into four days as possible. A friend suggested Hamilton Cove, the pictures as reviews suggested 2-47. Awesome. The pictures do not do this place justice and as you can see the pictures are stunning. Two easy flights of stairs. The entire condo is very open, light and airy. We wanted views. Lots of views. Your views of the sea and beach are from every room except the giant bathroom. Beautiful front to back concept with large living are, two sets of french doors opening to the balcony. The bedroom is in the back but the amazing design allows you to open two shutters for a full view across the living room to the sea. This place had every utensil you could ever need. A very nice kitchen with pass through breakfast bar. DIning room with view and four chairs. Internet, TV with internal DVD/CD player, cable, DVDs, CDs, books, games...everything. The bathroom is very large two sink affair with large shower and separate stool area. The bedroom is high ceilings like the living area. Large California king, single closet and chest of drawers. You don't care. Its the view. I would not recommend this for other than a couple. Maybe one small kid but this is a couples place. You share the balcony but we saw our neighbors only once. The entire place is very quiet. Rocky beach, nice dock, tennis, miniature golf. The condo comes with a great golf cart that has detachable sides. This is a great condo. This was a great weekend. Worth every single dime.
We loved this unit. The only complaint is the sofa sleeper was really uncomfortable for our small children. A air mattress would have done the trick. We'll still be back.
First off, this was our first time renting a condo/home in Catalina. It was an easy transition with reserving online and following up necessary paper work prior to arrival. The rental company was quick with check in. I would have to say I think myself and my family would have expected a little more of a welcome and guidance since this was our first time doing this, and myself and my family were staying in an area that never knew that existed. Our room was in Hamilton Cove. It's a short ride, but a little expensive with one way taxi ride for about a 1-2 minute drive, and never consistent with pricing. The room was really nice, quiet and clean. We had a stroller, so thankfully there were not many steps to our room. Plus we were able to leave it in the golf cart that comes with the rental. The bed was comfortable, and the pull out was a little rough, but it's a pull out. Liked the bathroom, and the toilet being closed off on its on. I will say this is more of a couples room, because there is not much privacy with the bedroom and the rest of the condo. The view was amazing. The biggest downfall is lack of privacy, due to the windows not having some sort of curtain or blinds to close at night, and anyone can walk around the patio section and have clear sight of 90% of inside the condo. I wish it had a BBQ, also. The privacy was an issue when waking up in the morning to people mowing lawns, walking around the patio, and whatever else they were doing. I would rent this room again, simply because of how easy it was from the gold cart to our room, and the view was amazing. This is a corner unit, also! There is no bathtub, just a stand in glass shower with a seat but has plenty of space.
