Vacation Rental Summary
Hands down one of the best vacations my husband and I have ever taken! The check in with CIVR was effortless, the condo was beautiful and well appointed and the location was perfect. We sat out on the balcony to eat dinner each night and there was often a deer or two on the lawn across the street. Having a golf cart at our disposal was wonderful, just the little drive back and forth to town was enjoyable. One caution though, the interior has beautiful tile floors but we had a couple of close calls that almost resulted in falls so watch your step!
My family and I had an amazing and relaxing week in this villa. The only down fall was that I accidently fell down the stairs and hit my face. It hurt so much because its a Mexican tile flooring, beautiful but very dangerous to hit your head. I would definitely book this beautiful villa again and be extra careful going down the stairs.
We enjoyed our stay! Great views from both balconies. Loved being right there at the beach area but it was a little noisy from all the carts coming and going. Guest parking for the beach area was right outside. We ate in a lot and the kitchen had most everything we needed. To make it better would be a list of things available with the condo and where they are. We didn't find the laundry room till the end of our trip and in the laundry room was some beach stuff we would have used. All in all a great place!
very nice, quiet, private condo ... good for us because not too many steps, since I recently had foot surgery, and still in recovery. Very large condo, that could easily be shared, since one bedroom downstairs with private bathroom. A really fun drive into town for shopping, dining, etc. using the golf cart included.
I would highly recommend staying in Hamilton Cove. The Civr team was extremely professional and much easier to deal with than the competition. We loved this villa. I actually proposed to my fiancé here, on the lawn directly across from the villa overlooking the ocean. I think the most amazing part was waking up to the view from the bedroom. The location is gorgeous. The villa was clean and comfortable. The appliances (like the TV and entertainment stuff) was extremely outdated - which is exactly how we'd like it. We spent time cooking and travelling the island. Some recommendations: Get groceries at Vons and cook. Nothing more romantic than making dinner at home here. Vons is extremely reasonable - not at all over priced. Get a moonlight massage at Descanso Beach. The massage company there will pick you up and drop you off at Hamilton Cove if you ask nicely. We will definitely return and we will definitely try to stay at the same villa.
First off, Catalina Island Vacation Rentals is awesome! This is the second time we rented one of their Hamilton Cove units; last time was in January. When I called beginning of May, they remembered my name and who I was! Such customer service!!! The second rental took less then 2 minutes since they had all my information and then they asked me to download their mobile app, which is wonderful! It had all the rental information ready at my fingertips. And, because we rented with them, we got a nice discount on our helicopter ride to and from the island. We got to Catalina mid morning, and because the unit was ready, they let us get into it immediately. The unit is nice, the view is breathtaking (a balcony on both levels), but the furniture is a little dated and the tv's are old. The one in the living room is actually hard to watch. But, we didn't come to watch TV, so we didn't mind that. The location is beautiful, and if your windows are open at night, you can hear the waves. It does not have air conditioning. Since the temperature was in the 70s, it was okay, but it would concern me in a hot summer. There are two flights of stairs to get to the front door, but the downstairs bedroom has it's own entrance, which only has one flight of stairs to get to the street. All in all, we had an amazing stay, and I would recommend Catalina Island Vacation Rentals and their units highly. We'll be back!!!
We love Hamilton Cove. This was my second time here and my husbands first. Check-in isn't normally until 3 but we arrived early and were able to get into our room by noon. This unit is two stories with private balconies on both floors with beautiful views from both. We immediately got in our golf cart (which was in way better condition than the one I got in a different unit) and drove to Vons to stock up our fridge for the weekend. Btw, having a golf cart for the entire weekend is the best. We drove all over checking out homes, the botanical gardens and saw so many things we wouldn't have seen without one. You will pay like $60-$80/hr to rent one in town for just a couple hours. You do not get cell phone coverage at Hamilton Cove but you can walk up to the front gate and get service there. I was also pleasantly surprised to have internet access in this unit. Our only complaint was that the bed is very hard. And the cleaning fees are a bit much when you are required to take out your own trash and do the dishes. Oh, and also...on our last night there, we got a flat tire on the golf cart so we called the after hours # and were reimbursed for our taxi back. Very impressed with Civr. I highly recommend renting from them and not directly with Hamilton Cove. We will definitely be back and stay at this exact unit again!!!
