Information | Rental Accommodations on Catalina Island

Hours of Operation

We are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM seven days a week. We may close or limit hours of operation on selected holidays. If you plan to arrive on the island after our office closes or on holidays, please call ahead to make arrangements for picking up your check-in information and keys and to get directions.

Check-In / Checkout

Check-in is anytime after 3:00 PM the day of your arrival, provided the prior occupants left on time and all the necessary cleaning and repairs have been completed. Please do not ask to check in early during the busy summer months, as our housekeepers are busily trying to clean and prepare the vacation home for you. If you arrive on the island before 3:00, there are several places where you can check or store your belongings so that you can stroll around town, grab a bite to eat, etc. Just ask our reservation agent for that information. At other times of year, you are welcome to ask about early check-in. If the property is ready, we’ll gladly let you check in; if the property is not clean, please understand that we cannot give you early check-in.

Checkout is 10:00 AM the day of your departure. Please do not ask for a late checkout, as our housekeepers need to get into the vacation home to clean and prepare it for the next guest. If the property you are renting comes with a golf cart, please do not ask to use the cart after the 10:00 AM checkout time. Again, if you are leaving the island later in the day, there are several places where you can check or store your belongings so that you can stroll around town, take a tour, grab a bite to eat, etc. Just ask the reservation agent for that information.

Catalina Baggage and Storage is the perfect place to store your luggage if you’ve arrived early and your vacation rental isn’t available for early check-in or if you are leaving on a later boat.

They are located at the end of the Cabrillo Mole, on the left hand side and can be reached at 310-510-9597.

Accommodations

CIVR represents many of the nicest private homes and condominiums on the island. Because these vacation homes are privately owned, décor, style, color schemes, and inventories will vary, reflecting the individual tastes of their owners. Every effort is made to ensure that our description of each property is accurate, however CIVR cannot be held responsible for possible errors in printing, changes made by owners in furnishings or equipment, or matters that are beyond our control. Since these are privately owned homes, please do not move any furnishings or kitchen items.

Every vacation home is inspected before guest arrival. If we have overlooked anything, or if you discover any problems or damage upon arrival to the property, please notify our office immediately so that we can try to rectify the problem. If we do not hear from you and subsequently discover the damage upon your departure, you will be held responsible for said damage.

If any damage occurs during your stay, again, please call us and help us work with you in settling the matter before your departure. Since every property is also carefully inspected post-occupancy, you will be held responsible for any damage observed beyond normal wear and tear.

Housekeeping

Your reserved property will be cleaned and supplied with bed and bath linens prior to your arrival. Beach/pool towels are NOT provided, so please bring those with you. If you would like additional housekeeping service during your stay, arrangements can be made through our office for an additional fee.

Each vacation home has a “start-up” supply of products such as toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and dish detergent, however you may need to purchase additional amounts during longer stays. Each bathroom is supplied with soap and shampoo.

A mandatory post-occupancy cleaning fee is included in your reservation costs. You are expected to leave the home “broom clean,” which means bagging the trash and placing it in the outside receptacle, cleaning and putting away the dishes, cleaning the barbecue, and generally tidying up (leaving no major messes for the housekeepers to clean up). The cost for any damaged or missing linens and towels will be charged against your security deposit.

Telephones

Telephones are provided in all vacation homes, local and long distance calls are free. It’s great not to worry about a phone bill at the end of your stay!
