Celebrate Oscar in Style
Catalina Island’s relationship with Hollywood stretches back before the “talkies.” The Island’s natural beauty and proximity to Southern California have made it a natural spot for location scouts and celebrity getaways for generations.
With that long history, it’s only natural to celebrate the movies on the Island and the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation is hoping that you’ll do just that. For several years, the foundation’s signature fundraiser has been An Evening With Oscar, which includes a silent auction, dining and dancing along with big-screen viewing of the Oscar telecast. This year, the black-tie gala is getting even more glamorous with a new location in the world famous Casino Ballroom. 2014’s celebration is set for Sunday, March 2, and provides a perfect opportunity to visit Catalina Island while supporting a good cause.
The CIMC Foundation supports Avalon’s hospital, the Catalina Island Medical Center, which provides emergency and routine medical care to the residents and visitors of Catalina Island.
