Not our favorite – Aug-22

My family and I have stayed in many properties throughout Avalon for 20+ years. That includes homes, hotels, and condos. I’ve never once left a review on a home, but this house is an exception. It was boiling hot every day/night. We almost thought we accidentally hit the thermostat or something because we could not get this place to cool down. Doors were broken off hinges (the front bathroom and back bathroom shower door). The showerhead in one of the bathrooms was broken and shot water towards the ceiling and then all over the floor. We had to wrap it in towels to stop the leak. We couldn’t get the Wifi to work even once and to be honest; the house was left pretty dirty by the renters before. This was not on the cleaning crew at all because it clearly states in the rental agreement that renters are responsible for doing dishes and taking out the trash before they leave. But the dishes were absolutely disgusting. Caked on food found on the cheese graters and garlic presses. The pans were covered in rust and buildup. And it looked like the utensils hadn’t been washed in months. We had to make store runs for everything. Oils, spices, condiments, pretty much everything was missing. We aren’t a picky bunch; we make every house work for us, but this was very disappointing. If you’re booking this home to enjoy dinners with your fam and relax after the beach, this probably isn’t the place for you. Pay a little more to get a little more!
