We have been returning to this until since we first stayed 5 years ago. The furniture needs a deep clean but other than that, we ALWAYS love returning.
CIVR, while they have some very strict policies ( listed below), has always taken care of us in a professional way. If something goes wrong, and that’s been rare, they have promptly rectified the situation.
This until has everything you need to enjoy a home away from home, complete with an ocean view in every room. Yes, even that room. Oddly, there was no skillet this year. Guests destroyed, owner removed? I can’t imagine either but it wasn’t there. But, cooking utensils, pots, coffee maker, plates, blender, etc. were all there as usual.
Typically there are tennis rackets but we didn’t use them this time so hopefully they were there.
There are nice TV’s in both the bedroom and living room.
One of the perks of this unit is the private balcony. My husband and I enjoy this every year after the jazz concert…and in the mornings. Other balconies are shared.
You can’t beat the view here. A golf cart is included which seems to have had a tune-up. Thank you CIVR or owners:).
The tile floors give this place character. There is one sorta long flight and 2 shorter flights of stairs to get to the unit. No problem for anyone who is even close to being in shape but the very with mobility issues may want to consider these.
The grounds of HC are beautiful. Provides for a nice walk and workout. Private beach is small but just right with benches and grills.
I mentioned that CIVR is strict. There is a $35.00 fee if you arrive outside a 2 hour window. That is, before 3:30 or after 5:30. So if you don’t have a perfect trip, you’ll be charged $35.00. I’m not sure what the reasons are for such a few. Also, there is a 25% fee required to reserve ($500.00 for us). I think it’s steep. That being said, and focusing on the positive, they do give repeaters priority AND, you can make payments spread out throughout the year.
I heard rumors from locals that they are making the island more exclusive and for the rich. I do know that one little shop that was very nice, and where us ladies would meet annually the Saturday after arriving on the island, is gone!
I hope the hometown feeling remains.
We are happy with our experience with CIVR and have to say they have always come through for us.
Can you guys check on that skillet? Wink:).
Staff is great too!
