WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY! – Jul-19

Stayed at 8-81 and loved every bit of it! The golf cart came with the rental and it was a must-have on the island. Hamilton Cove was absolutely beautiful and the island had so many things to do, although doing nothing was the relaxing choice we made. The unit has plenty of space, the constant sound of waves crashing at night were a wonderful way to fall asleep each night. The cove is about a mile from Avalon and just a few blocks from Descanso Beach Club. The island is easy to navigate, the food was outstanding and having a Von’s grocery store nearby was a savior for anything you would want or need. We look forward to returning for sure. This unit is near the bottom of the hill just as the pictures show so just a few steps to your unit as opposed to some of the others that looked to be quite a climb. The only thing this unit needs is an updated stove/oven, it needs some help or needs to be replaced. Other than that, the unit has a great private balcony on the living room/kitchen level and a nice balcony down stairs where the bedroom is located. Both bathrooms were nice with the one at the living room level being very roomy. For us it was an easy flight from IAH to LAX, taxi to long beach and ferry to the island. From there, you can either walk to the CIVR office or take a quick cab ride (2 min). It was very easy and the CIVR folks were very friendly and easy to do business with.
