In the 1970s, the Wrigley family deeded nearly 90 percent of the island to the Catalina Island Conservancy and since that time the non-profit has existed to protect the island. Thanks to the on-going support of thousands of supporters their work has protected flora and fauna alike. Working with their partners, the Conservancy has protected iconic species including the bald eagle and the Catalina Island fox. Each spring, the Catalina Conservancy Ball provides an elegant opportunity to continue that support. Featuring dining and dancing in the world-famous Casino Ballroom, the Conservancy Ball is a black-tie extravaganza that has become a must-do event for those who support the Conservancy’s mission.
This year’s Conservancy Ball, which is themed “Taking Flight,” is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, from 6 to 11 p.m. Tickets to the ball, which regularly sell out, are available on the Conservancy website. Accommodations during the weekend of the ball should be reserved in advance
