Easter on Catalina

Catalina Island on Easter weekend offers a number of activities for children and adults as well as the island’s mild weather and spectacular natural beauty.

If it just wouldn’t be Easter without hunting up some eggs, both Avalon and Two Harbors have you covered.

The City of Avalon sponsors an egg hunt near the school on Falls Canyon Road for kiddos ages third grade and younger. The mad dash starts at 9 a.m. sharp on March 26 with the fun concluding with a visit from the Easter bunny.

At Two Harbors, the Easter egg hunt is just part of the fun – all of which is sponsored and organized by the Santa Catalina Island Company and Corsair Yacht Club. On Saturday, hat decorating and a hat parade offer prizes for kids and adults. The Easter Sunday egg hunt starts with the Easter bunny in the Plaza at 8 a.m.

Art fans have also discovered that Easter weekend is an ideal time to visit. The Catalina Art Fair and Exhibition is held on Crescent Avenue Easter weekend. Dozens of artists will showcase their creations along Avalon’s scenic waterfront.  The Catalina art festival begins on Friday, March 25 and continues through Sunday, March 27.
