An evening with Oscar is held in the Catalina Casino Ballroom

Catalina Island’s Casino Ballroom has long been one of the most elegant venues in Southern California. With its massive circular ballroom, art deco décor and spectacular views of Avalon Harbor, there’s nowhere else like it on earth.

Attending an event at the Catalina Casino Ballroom has its own allure, no matter what the reason, but there are several soirees that have become nearly unmissable. One of those is An Evening With Oscar, the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation’s black-tie gala held in conjunction with the Academy Awards. Featuring live and silent auctions, dinner and the Oscar telecast, the evening is particularly spectacular, considering its location. Attendees, dressed in black tie or in costume, compete to see who can most accurately predict the Oscar winners. Tickets for the event, which is scheduled for Feb. 28, start at $100 with a range of sponsorships also available.

The Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation raises funds for Catalina Island Medical Center, the sole source of medical care on Catalina Island. CIMC provides an emergency department, in-patient care, physician appointments, physical therapy, laboratory and radiology. Located on Falls Canyon Road, the facility serves the needs of the island’s residents and visitors.
