What to do on Catalina Island this fall?

Fall is festival season on Catalina Island. Nearly every weekend features a festival – including film, art, beer, wine and music.

A few Catalina fall festivals that we are really looking forward to include:

Sept 10, Catalina Microbrew Festival – Sample dozens of great beers at Two Harbors, on the island’s remote West End.

Sept. 16-18, Festival of the Arts – The longest running Catalina Island festival includes three days of art displayed – and sold – along Crescent Avenue.

Sept. 17 or Sept. 23-25 – Catalina has two fall wine festivals. The first of which is a fundraiser for the Catalina Island Women’s Forum and includes dozens of wines served on South Beach on Sept. 17. The second is the Catalina Wine Mixer, based on an event in the popular Stepbrothers movie. Scheduled for Sept. 23 to 25, it includes live music, movie screenings and wine.

Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, Catalina Film Festival – this celebration of film includes dozens of screenings, celebrity sightings and industry galas. It’s a great time to honor the connection between Catalina Island and Hollywood, a relationship that goes back to the earliest days of film.

Oct. 13-16 and Oct. 20-23, Catalina JazzTrax Festival – For three decades JazzTrax has brought some of the greatest Jazz artists to the island for legendary concerts in the Casino Ballroom.
